We are not a football club, just a speculative property business. The only thing that ENIC and Levy are really interested in is enhancing their property empire. There has never been a long-term plan put in place by the board, and by that I mean Levy, to build a successful football club that wins trophies.
All if not most of the fans realize that a top-four place is the height of the club’s ambition. Levy has never put a practical strategic plan into place with a number of ambitious targets to attain on-field and lasting success as Liverpool did.
One minute a DOF is our Modus Operandi and then we alter that strategy. We have had thirteen managers in Levy’s tenure and one trophy.
We continually change our scouting, coaching, recruitment, and managerial staff. The manager has never been given the tools to do the job because he never gets the players he has requested before a transfer window. What is even more egregious is this has happened on a number of occasions when we have had a genuine chance to actually build momentum under successful managers.
What is the point of appointing the likes of Mourinho, who requested Dias or Skriniar and got Rodon for his travels? Redknapp wanted Tevez and got Saha. Poch implored the board to be brave and received no new recruits for circa five hundred days as his reward for getting us into the Champions League four times, an event unknown in our …professional football.
Even if the new stadium managed to throw off significant free cash flow, does any fan feel confident that it would either be spent on the team or spent wisely?
The immutable fact is that with ENIC as our owner and Levy as their representative on Earth, nothing will ever change. Twenty-three years of neglect and mismanagement should be sufficient evidence to convince even the most ardent fan of this point.
Masquerading as some kind of prudent saviour and custodian of the club and half of the Haringey borough. All he’s there to do is make himself and ENIC richer. At the expense of the aspirations of the supporters and many other parties associated.
But hey, they set up a Covid vaccination centre in the stadium and keep a zero-carbon cabbage patch at Hotspur Way and get Eric Dier to tell people about how excited he is about growing vegetables and how it’s “making a difference”…

I think Mourinho and Spurs were going to part company that summer anyway, but to get rid of him just before a final because Levy didn’t want to pay out either final appearance bonus or a bonus of winning it, is just scandalous.
That’s exactly why he was sacked when he was.
This club has been hijacked by property developers, the football side of things is just incidental.
One way of looking at it, is that Enic bought a shell company which had a great brand, and backed a property development strategy into it, based on spreadsheets and possible future assets values.
The football team was no longer the main asset of value, simply the product which created the cash flows through it’s rock solid brand loyalty, basically us mugs.
Using our money, they implemented the plan, build property in London, one of the most valuable real estate areas in the world.
And the reality is the plan has been executed to perfection, hence Lewis’s total backing of Levy.
They didn’t ever promise us a successful football team, we simply assumed that’s why they got involved, we were wrong.
Sugar’s parting words were he had wasted 10 years, and if he had invested in property instead he would have increased his wealth even more.
Enic saw that opportunity in Spurs and took it, and the rest as the saying goes, is now history.
In case anyone forgot Sugar sold up because he was sick and tired of the abuse he and his family took, especially on match days, there is only so much bad mouthing you can tolerate from 35k of fans, it’s not about the money anymore, he had enough.
May be the only way you can make Levy face the situation he is causing with football side of things would be if he was subjected to a similar experience.
As Sugar found out, if you want to be adored as an owner, it isn’t about being a saviour of a club, it’s only about creating a successful football team, if you want to be liked, you had better deliver, there are no half measures.
Nothing changes until it changes in the football department of the club.
We’ve had 21 years of the chairman talking about daring but not demonstrating a lot of doing, and I don’t see any tangible indication of that changing any time soon.

If JM was sacked at that exact moment in order to save on a possible trophy bonus, that is absolutely staggering….
Disengagement from the subject matter is inevitable in the end. Until that manifests in reduced ticket and merch sales, ENIC will change nothing to the way they operate the club.
There is no way out of this really, you either lay down and accept it and try to get excited about the prospect of winning nothing, or stop engaging all together. One thing is clear though, ENIC are con artist and Levy fronts it up. Never forget what he did with the furlough thing, the man is an embarrassment…

I think all of us on this thinking man’s Spurs site feel the same, but it is so frustrating that all we can do is repeatedly perambulate our thoughts without any effect. Frustrating in the extreme. I’m going to take up yoga and drink herbal tea whilst I am doing it.
Unfortunately I still feel Levy and Enic are envious of the wrong team in Manchester.
United are a money making machine that is run cluelessly on the field but isn’t half lining the pockets of the owners.
City are a ruthless FOOTBALL TALENT hoovering machine first and foremost.
They’d love to build us into a United cash cow ahead of a City footballing machine.
It would mean that JM has won a trophy at every club apart from Spurs. – Well…. if Levy had kept JM in the post a few days longer that trophy might have occurred. It was particularly petty what Levy did with that premature sacking.

The sad truth is that I think most fans are beginning to realise that THFC have zero concern about what the fans want.

Jose Mourinho could easily win the Europa Conference league with Roma. In fact I’ve had a bet on it. It would mean that JM has won a trophy at every club apart from Spurs. And you all thought we couldn’t get more Spursy than we are now.
Think again.
The long list of players we have signed that have not been up to the job almost equals the long list of players who have left and gone on to win trophies.
Whilst Lo Celso & Aurier prepare for a CL semi final. The players deemed “good enough” are busy at our world class training facilities preparing to “fight” to finish 4th.
Sometimes I think the problem is us, the fans. We want Levy gone so much that it doesn’t matter who plays or who manages them. We are so used to disappointment that our fear transfers on to the players.
Conte might stay, he might go. Kane might stay, he might go. The players we have on loan might leave, they might come back.
This is our club in a nutshell.
This might happen or that might happen.
There is no leadership from the top. We need a leader. We need a figurehead. We need someone who cares if we win or lose not because of CL positions but because we are Spurs and we must be better than we are now.
I feel like I’ve been thinking or writing this for years. Anyone thinking that if Conte leaves that will put pressure on Levy to go.

The only way I can see Enic selling is if they feel valuations have peaked since the debt is not due for another 25 years at a rate around 2.5%. So pray for either a very high or very depressed Chelsea sale.

The entire fans/owners model must be redesigned. Without participatory ownership (football clubs, corporations, private companies etc) the majority will forever have their lives determined for them by a tiny minority.
When the sole motivation is profit soul withers on the vine. No matter if it’s football fans, employees, communities or the natural world. one outcome.
Or to apply a dreary hollywood analogy (eek Wall Street) collectivist sheens are impotent vs rapacious douglases.
in a word, our cares are not enic’s. And they never were. Nor will they ever be. As fans – spurs or otherwise – (perhaps in the uk forest green and a few others excepted) the relationship we have is parasitic-vampiric. Goodwill, passion and history being syphonable resources until drained.

OK, so we fail to get CL and Conte moves on. He will be looked after and another Gagging Order put in place. Same as it ever was. Most of us on here share the same opinion regarding Levy and ENIC but there are many Supporters still in a Coma. That’s the Big Issue.
You are probably right to wonder what is the point of repeating similar sentiments about the running of the club. I think it it is matter of venting one’s frustration after so many years of near triumph turned into certain failure, all of which were wholly avoidable. But what will the fans think if we don’t make top four again? Will they console themselves that we have one of the best stadiums and training facilities in the world which incidentally produce little in the way of home grown success stories and certainly nothing in the way of trophies? Or will they at least demonstrate as the Utd fans do against the Glazers, who despite loading the club up with debt as Levy has done, have at least spent fortunes trying to achieve on field success and landed three trophies? At what stage do the fans really turn on Levy? Do we have to be in a relegation fight for the mood to turn really sour or are the Spurs fans reasonably content to continue along the same path of mediocrity, mouthing the same platitudes of our world class facilities allied with being approximately the eighth richest club in the world?
When is enough really enough or do we have to wait for Enic to sell up?

We all say the same thing day after day. I’m not sure what the point is anymore.
All hands point to Levy and enic. There are no other culprits in this sorry tale. The stadium with no name will stand as a monument to their 22 plus years of abject failure. The stadia is as big as Levy’s pockets are deep. In the future their tenure will be held up as an example of how not to run a football club with regards to success on the pitch.
Boycott them if you want any chance of change.

The asset value increase is fantastic on a spreadsheet considering the base investment, buildings are better depreiction rate than winning.
It’s clear that Levy hasn’t back his managers to-date. But I am curious to see if the tide has turned and he will back Conte (if Conte stays). We literally have one of the *current* best Football Managers in the world… and Levy ‘seemed’ to show a lot of contrition last year after the fan protests… if there is any time he is going to put his wallet where he should… it’ll be this summer.
If Conte stays and then gets some two bob players who are 10th down on Patraci’s list for any given position (on the last day of the summer transfer window)… then yeah.. we’re really scrwed for the next 20 years.
