Manchester City trail 1-0 after losing the first leg against Tottenham; of the 32 previous occasions of a side losing the first leg of a two-legged Champions League tie 1-0 away from home, 10 went on to progress (31%).
Tottenham Hotspur were eliminated the last time they won 1-0 in the first leg of a two-legged European tie at home, being knocked out by Kaiserslautern in the second round of the 1999-2000 UEFA Cup (2-1 on aggregate).
Tottenham have only won one of their last eight visits to Manchester City in all competitions (D1 L6), a 2-1 Premier League win in February 2016.
The first leg of Tottenham Hotspur vs Manchester City saw eight different English players in the two starting line-ups. The last UEFA Champions League game to see more Englishmen start was the 2008 Champions League final between Manchester United & Chelsea (10).
In European competition, Manchester City have lost all five of their previous matches against fellow English clubs, including all three in the Champions League.
Manchester City have won 23 of their 25 home matches in all competitions this season (L2), although they have lost two of their last three home games in the Champions League knockout stages, winning the other 7-0 against Schalke in this season’s last 16.

,
yellow cards accumulated in UEFA club competitions from the beginning
of the group stage are wiped out upon completion of the quarter-finals.
That means all players left in the competition now have a clean slate,
with the exception of those that incurred a suspension in the
quarter-final second legs and will miss the semi-final first legs,
namely:”
He won’t be able to play I am afraid. Yellow cards will expire but not those on 3 cards. ” … with the exception of those that incurred a suspension in the quarter-final second legs and will miss the semi-final first legs,”

Saturday’s game will be interesting. City can bring in Stones, Mahrez, Sane, Jesus amongst many others. We have the luxury of swapping in Foyth, KWP, Skipp….
In Levy’s world last night was vindication of his refusal to invest in the squad.
In the real world it was due to a mix of hard work, luck and a team spirit engendered despite our Chairman’s best efforts to alienate and isolate those players refusing to tow the line and sign some god awful performance related contract for a pittance.
Levy – you should be on your hands and knees begging Poch for forgiveness. We are succeeding despite you, not because of you.
BACK THE MANAGER
Where’s Gazza these days?I’d love to get his take on our spoiling City’s quad bid.
Look at the player ratings on bbc.Who makes these? After Sonny,Llorente and Eriksen were next best.Go figure.

Son can play can’t he.
Exceptionally, all yellow cards and pending yellow-card suspensions expire on completion of the play-offs. They are not carried forward to the group stage. In addition, all yellow cards expire on completion of the quarter-finals. They are not carried forward to the semi-finals.

Not according to the commentators anyway.
No, it’s both those dates
One other thing was confirmed in this match – shift Sonny out wide and I want to cry. He gets lost out there
Night Cab, what a night. COYS!
Just two quality players brought in last Summer and i think we win the EPL and reach the CL final
Hard to tell because I’m too delirious from the game. But cant
a pleasure chaps as always ,enjoy your beers ,i best do some work before i finish ,,catch ya saturday. COYS
Yes, i kept turning my iPad off and on again and for my Son to shout “no goal” quickly trying to get the stream back….how we got through that ffs….
Sat will be interesting. Skipp it is then..
Everything we’ve done in past four years is DESPITE of Levy and Enic. Might seem churlish to say so after that tonight, but hey, it’s the truth. Imagine their bench playing ours in a 7-a-side – we’d get slaughtered. Immense effort by them all, despite some woeful stuff by some. Just imagine what a little investment by the investment company could have achieved… just imagine it
Forgetting being a spurs fan, can anyone remember a more dramatic football match in recent history?
yeah i was thinking that about VAR that is one of the only times ever i can remember us actually getting a big break.
Me too.
Love that we took a giant shit on the media darlings script
I had that down as a loss anyway on our games remaining and would have taken that game if i had a choice :),yep no quad for them!!
That last goal went in and I’d stormed out the bar in disgust – along with a load of other Spurs. Heard a commotion and rounded up the other Spurs and 30 seconds later I lost my voice.
Fair play VAR, usually the script would have been bye bye Spurs.
One of the toughest games to sit through but against all the odds and all that. Getting through with that bench and Llorente stumbling about – still some spirit in this squad.
Eriksen trying that lob with a few minutes left made me want to hurt him though.
Joleyn Lescott is one salty mother fucker ?
Reading through our comments is bloody funny ,feel the tension or what. Would love to see it again with out the stress.
I don’t give a toss Cab, we wrecked their much feted quadruple.
But wouldn’t it be something if we somehow managed to put paid to their title hopes in the same week. Tee hee!
Actually i’m gonna give Ali some credit for playing with a double fracture and i felt he made a decent enough fist of it given the circumstances. Trips was terrible, just totally out of his depth, Wanyama not far behind but i’m putting that down to serious ring rust. Tin Tin is the luckiest man in football after tonight, i hope this is a turning point for his attitude between now and the close of business. Gutted for Sissy who up until the injury had been immense – hope it’s nothing serious
Fuck knows whose going to play up top against Ajax tho – gameplan has to be not to lose the first leg and wait for Sonny in the 2nd
lets hope we get the 7th.
30th & 7th
No words can describe that match. There is really no way we should be in the semi final. Levy is an absolute w..ker for having such a threadbare squad at this stage of a CL competition. Son misses the first leg of the semi final to add further salt into the wound. Moura was totally absent and Eriksen really needs a good kick up the backside as he really is not at the races atall. Ali was totally unfit to play. Trippier I never want to see in a Spurs shirt again. He totally was at fault for losing Sterling for both his goals. We have no midfield. and now virtually no attack. All praise to the squad for somehow battling through but Levy there is no way you deserve to be any where near a CL semifinal with your level of investment. Lovely to see Guardiola’s face when he saw the VAR verdict
I think they might want payback come Saturday.
What date is the semi? we need players fit .
i thought all cards were dropped in the semi final?
Hahahah, Erikson was hilarious when interviewed, like THANK GOD for VAR
Me too Cab, that was truly extraordinary, i can’t even remember the first 21 minute goalfest
My laptop battery died 2 seconds after Poch screamed in joy
Son suspended
Trippier was worse than everyone by a country mile
Ajax in the last 4.
We won in spite of Eriksen and Dele and Trippier.
i cant stop shaking ,my work mates are taking the right royal piss 🙂
We have no players left…Poch really is magic….Back him Levy you cretin
Unbelievable tension, how emotional is Poch.Great result.I need a large one.
