“They love this player” Romano says Spurs remain interested in Serie A star

By Bruce Grove -

Spurs remain interested in a move for Inter Milan defender, Milan Skriniar after missing out on him in the summer.

Jose Mourinho asked the club to sign him in that transfer window and they did make a move for him.

Daniel Levy couldn’t get the Italians to sell him for a favourable price even though he was made available for transfer.

Spurs settled for Joe Rodon from Swansea just before the English transfer window closed.

The Welshman has been a part of the team in some games, but there is a feeling that Mourinho doesn’t trust him enough and would sign another centre back in the summer.

In the latest episode of his Here We Go Podcast, Fabrizio Romano claims that Spurs still loves Skriniar and might try to sign him again.

They just fell short of sealing a move for him in the summer and now he has become a regular in Milan again and would cost even more than Spurs were reluctant to pay.

‘I will mention again Skriniar because they love this player,’ Romano said on his Here We Go podcast

‘They are scouting, they love this player, they are convinced he would be perfect. Mourinho loves this player. He’s one of the players they are convinced would be perfect.

‘It is about the scouting, the board, Mourinho. They have one big problem, they were really close to signing Milan Skriniar, they offered like €35m (£30m), Inter were asking for €50m (£42.5m), so they were close, but they decided to give up.

‘What happened in this moment is that Conte is doing an amazing job with Skriniar and now he is a starter, before they had Diego Godin and Skriniar wasn’t playing, now he’s a starter and he is doing so well, fans are in love with Skriniar, so now it is not €50m (£42,5m), I think it will be around €80/75m (£68m/£63m) for Srkiniar.’

You can kinda see why we never win anything with this genius at the helm can’t you? The prem’s Mr Bean. Poch is better off without him.

Levy’s blown it, like he’s blown just about everything else. Is he a serial blower?

Another Levy masterclass in the art of the deal. Skimp now, pay more later. You can’t make this up.

Could this end up being the new Leandro Damiao?
