Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a number of goalkeepers in recent months.
The Premier League side are reportedly looking for a long-term replacement for Hugo Lloris and they have identified the Inter Milan goalkeeper Andre Onana as a potential target.
The 26-year-old has impressed at San Siro since joining the club from Ajax as a free agent.
The Cameroonian has managed to displace Samir Handanovic as the club’s first-choice goalkeeper and he could prove to be the ideal replacement for the Frenchman.
Lloris has regressed considerably over the past year and he can no longer be a regular starter for Antonio Conte’s side if they want to challenge for major trophies.
The World Cup winner’s errors have cost Spurs valuable points this season and the Londoners must look to replace him soon.
Inter Milan are reportedly going through financial difficulties and they will need to raise around £50-55 million during the summer transfer window in order to balance their books.
Journalist Graeme Bailey has now revealed to TeamTalk that Onana could be allowed to leave the club just after 12 months and Tottenham could be a potential destination.
Apparently, the Londoners have liked him before he moved to the Italian club.
“Onana joined Inter from Ajax last summer, but he could now be allowed to leave after just 12 months in Milan.
“Tottenham are very much one to keep an eye on. They liked him a lot before he moved to Milan.”
It remains to be seen whether Inter Milan are prepared to sell the goalkeeper for a reasonable price.
The opportunity to play in the Premier League could prove to be tempting for the goalkeeper and Spurs could prove to be the ideal next step in his career.
