The draw for Round of 32 is on Monday. Our group, K is decided. Neither Spurs or FC Anji Makhachkala can fail to progress.
We have to win every game. It’s one more game but we will do our best. We have to win every game to make ourselves even stronger for the next one and we are in the right position to do this.
To win this competition would be very good. We have a great team so we just need to play to win as many games as we can. It’s a great opportunity for us to win this competition.”

I’m inclined to agree with Sandro here. Of all the things we need to look at, developing a winning mentality is certainly on the list. But looking beyond our winning the group, when you cast an eye at at the details of Anji’s games, tomorrow’s match does not warrant a full strength squad.
The game against Liverpool is horribly important. We lose, Liverpool reinforce their position and Newcastle could leapfrog us. I can cope with that, but the whiners won’t be able to. The “Stubborn AVB Costs Spurs Champions League Football” headlines will be out in full force.
Duncan Castles will reveal that AVB’s “friend” has told him that the boss has been told, if we don’t beat Southampton next week, then Pochettino will be instantly installed as the new Spurs boss on the stroke of full time.
The inauguration ceremony will finale with Roy Chubby Brown drowning André by means of a dunking stool, lowered in and out of vat of steaming horse urine, to wild applause from disenfranchised fans.
There are some great characters kicking about in our Development squad, and I don’t think anyone would begrudge seeing Spurs exercise some caution ahead of a league game against a Liverpool side in tremendous form.
My fear is that AVB will field an unnecessarily strong squad, then when we win, stand around looking pleased that the integrity of the competition has been honoured.
There’s danger here.
