“There is growing noise within the Spurs camp” – Presenter makes worrying Ange Postecoglou claim

By Mehdi Gokal -

Tottenham Hotspur manager Ange Postecoglou has earned widespread acclaim since arriving in North London, but football presenter Will Brazier has raised concerns about his long-term future at the club.

Despite Postecoglou’s positive start, Brazier speculated that the Australian may not see out the season with Spurs.

During a conversation with Mark Goldbridge on the That’s Football podcast, Brazier expressed doubt over the futures of both Postecoglou and Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag.

He suggested that, despite Postecoglou’s early success, Tottenham’s upcoming fixtures could put pressure on the new manager if results start to falter.

When discussing who would finish higher between Tottenham and Manchester United, Brazier said (11:34 onwards):

“Both of them won’t have the managers that they’ve got now, and I think I worry for who Spurs would appoint next.”

When asked if he thinks both managers will be gone by the end of the season, Brazier replied:

“I just feel there is something, I feel that there is growing noise within the Spurs camp that just with last season, the start of this season, and like we said, the next run of games, if they get that wrong.”

Postecoglou, appointed in June 2023, has overseen a promising start to his tenure at Tottenham. His team went unbeaten in their first 10 Premier League matches, a run that earned him the Premier League Manager of the Month award for three months in a row.

Key results included a 2-1 victory over Liverpool, which ended a five-year winless streak against the Reds.

In his first nine Premier League games, Postecoglou collected a record 23 points, the most earned by any Premier League manager in that time frame.

His strong start has sparked optimism among Spurs fans, especially as the club narrowly missed out on Champions League qualification by just two points in his debut season.

TBH Says:

Despite Brazier’s comments, it is highly unlikely that Daniel Levy will let go of Ange after just a couple of seasons, given the significant work being done on and off the pitch. It appears that Levy has placed his trust in the Australian’s long-term project.

That being said, you never know with Levy. If he can sack Jose Mourinho, a serial trophy winner, right before a League Cup final, he can do anything .
