The next few months will be dominated by Son, Bale and Kane but not on the pitch – Opinion

Will Gareth Bale be staying for another season at Tottenham? Will Son Heung-min sign a contract extension and will Harry Kane be sold?

These three questions will all be answered in the summer but you can take it to the bank that these very same questions will dominate the media until that point.

Obviously, a lot will depend on how the season concludes. If there is no silverware and no Champions League then you have to think that Son and Kane and possibly Bale will have second thoughts about remaining in North London.

Even if there is silverware in the cabinet and qualification to Europe’s elite competition is achieved there would still be no guarantee that the trio will be Spurs players next season but the chances would surely be better if this campaign ends successfully.

It is going to be a long 3-4 months that is for sure, it will be tedious and frustrating, especially for those of us that report on this stuff and until Daniel Levy resolves all three players situations at the club the questions will continue to be asked.

Hopefully, the players will not become distracted by the speculation that is bound to follow, that is one of the risks with allowing these sort of situations to drag on.
