Tottenham has far too much recent form for players developing deep and meaningful relationships with the club’s physio staff. Of course, all teams encounter bad luck with injuries, but here we constantly look at Spurs and how we can improve as a football side, opposed to swapping stories with opposing fans about ‘bad luck’.
Press Association Sports’ Jonathan Veal has dropped the news that Giovani Lo Celso is out yet again with another injury. This time, after warming down, following our victory against West Ham United – a game many keen-eyed fans will appreciate that the delicate Argentinian did not even feature in.
The 25-year-old has shown flashes of inspiration when he has played for Spurs, but even the biggest hearted of supporters must now be wondering what the future holds for a player that appears to be ready for the beck and call of his country, but can’t routinely be available for his day job.
Make lots of sense on the analysis, but if you look at the times when he is going good, he hardly play 3 games on the trot so to say he did not get a good run is looking pass his contributions of not being available which is the subject. While you make very good points and facts that can stand on their own, petty swiping at Levy added nothing to your salient points. Just saying.
He was not cheap. My take was always if my midfielder in is scoring more goals than my forwards I taking a pass. Either he is better than the league or he plays on a bad team.
Poch brought him in on loan. The decision to take up the option to sign him was Mourinho’s.
I’m not sure we can blame any of the coaches for the succession of dross they have been ‘gifted.’
Shown nothing that offers hope.
Wasn’t he a Poch signing ? (whisper)
Who is going to take them? That’s the trouble with our transfer policy, cheap and crap tends not to accumulate in value and we are stuck with them.
Bruno certainly isn’t obsessed with playing for his country- he’s consistently useless for Portugal!
Aaaagh high hopes for Gio.
High hope for Gil…doh
Get his nut down and force his way into the team..but we would have to overlook the fact he over runs the ball doesn’t complete enough passes, giving away possession. Had high hope for Gil but he simply smells of another transfer committee balls up.
The problem is we have too many off these players on the books which affects new incomings….get rid and try again..
When purchased he was injured just like Tanguy. The Spurs medical department needs looked at, same as Klopp did at Liverpool.
Conte if he stays long enough will sort out fitness /medical teams.
When he gets fit, he’s never in the frame to start at Spurs or get any significant game time, so he goes off to get 90 mins for Argentina and pulls a muscle. I think the club are just as much to blame as the player or the Argentinian FA, if not more. What’s he supposed to do at Spurs? Not play for club OR country?
This is the problem when you have players that aren’t being used in the system of choice, or by the manager. They never get fully match fit, never get a run and that affects some players more than others. I see LoCelso’s injury problems exacerbated largely by the chaotic recruitment that has taken place over the last few years.
Why buy him AND Tangy at the same time, when you already have Moura, Dele, you then go on to sign Stevie B on top of that? When does Lo Celso get a run over Tanguy? Tangy strolls into the team without any justification other than the stupid fee we paid for him. If LoCelso had been brought in and properly integrated it’s quite possible that he wouldn’t be having these issues, certainly not to this extent.
Poor recruitment choices and frequent management changes, as usual. Let’s hope Conte ushers in a period of more common sense around the place. That clown Baldy has a lot to answer to…
Funny how he’s always fit to play for Argentina isn’t it? Get rid – he’s nothing but a wage thief and tbh we don’t really miss him anyway. Use the money to get in an AM who is happy to play for the badge. Once again we can blame Levy for this fiasco as he chickened out of buying Bruno Fernandez trying to save pennies as usual, Bruno has proved a much better player and more consistent player and is invariably fit to play, nor is he solely obsessed with playing for his country. Well done Daniel how do you manage it?
