‘The feeling inside the club is…’: Romano confirms Tottenham ‘appreciate’ 37-yr-old manager

By Saikat -

Burnley manager Vincent Kompany managed to guide the Clarets to the Premier League, and his achievements have attracted a lot of praise in recent weeks.

The 37-year-old has done a splendid job at the Championship club, and he has been linked with the likes of Tottenham Hotspur.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Tottenham appreciate the former Manchester City defender as a potential replacement for Antonio Conte, but they are yet to make a concrete decision. They will take their time to finalise an appointment and Daniel Levy is currently working on the issue.

Romano said to CaughtOffside: “I can confirm that Tottenham appreciate Vincent Kompany, I’ve said in the last few weeks that Vincent is one of the managers they like after his impressive work at Burnley.

“But the feeling inside the club is that nothing has been decided yet on the new head coach. It will take time to decide the new manager with Daniel Levy on it.”

Meanwhile, Burnley have played a progressive brand of attacking football under Kompany and Tottenham could certainly benefit from a manager like that. The Belgian is undoubtedly a talented young manager and he could prove to be an exciting appointment.

Although he is lacking in experience, he will have the determination and passion to succeed in the top flight.

It will be interesting to see if Kompany is ready to abandon the project at Burnley and move to the North London club at the end of the season. Burnley will probably hope that the 37-year-old can continue managing them in the Premier League and help establish the Clarets as a top-flight club once again.

Meanwhile, Tottenham Hotspur have also been linked with managers like Mauricio Pochettino, Luis Enrique and Julian Nagelsmann. For now, Tottenham have decided to put Cristian Stellini in charge on an interim basis until the end of the season.
