The Daniel Levy and Jose Mourinho relationship looks stronger than ever

A lot has been made about the dynamics of the relationship between club chairman Daniel Levy and manager Jose Mourinho and how long it would be before cracks developed.

There have been a couple of moments where it has looked fractious, the situation with Tanguy Ndombele being just one example, however, recent events tend to point to a relationship that is rather solid.

The signing of Joe Hart and possibly Matt Doherty, 33 and 28 respectively show that Daniel Levy has no issue moving away from the policy of signing for the future, in fact, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg at 25 is older than six previous signings made by the club.

This is clearly Mourinho’s doing, he loves an older more experienced player and the fact that Levy has gone along with this is a positive sign.

On the other side of the coin, Mourinho is blooding the youngsters, something that Levy is keen on and this shows that both men are working in tandem.

Of course, with two strong characters, this could easily change, but as things stand right now, the signs are there that the pair are getting along just fine.
