“That’s over £15m a season” Financial analyst gives an example of how Spurs makes more money than rival

Financial Guru and Football Insider columnist, Kieran Maguire has revealed how much money Tottenham makes from just selling “pints and burgers” on matchdays as he compares their earnings to that of Aston Villa.

Villa is emerging as one of the Premier League’s top clubs and they have been spending money relentlessly to bolster their squad.

The Villans have gotten their fans excited about returning to the stadium next season and they announced recently that their season ticket renewals have hit record numbers.

Tottenham is one of the biggest clubs in England and that status reflects in the revenue they make from tickets sales and refreshment sales to their fans.

Maguire was reacting to the news that Villa is doing very well financially from the sale of their season tickets and reveals that Tottenham makes more money from just refreshments at their stadium alone than Aston Villa makes from allowing fans through their turnstiles on match days.

He told Football Insider: “Spurs make £800,000 per game just from catering. That’s over £15m a season.

“They make more from selling pints and burgers than Villa do from selling tickets.

“Villa Park is bigger than the likes of Brighton and Crystal Palace’s stadiums but those clubs still earn more from matchday.

“One thing I would say is that what seems to go into matchday income seems to vary from club to club. Some clubs include catering and matchday together, some won’t.

“I quote these figures because they come from the accounts but there is no agreed standard between the clubs themselves.”
