Tottenham Hotspur are looking to bring in a winger at the end of the season.
Journalist Fabrizio Romano has now confirmed that signing a wide player will be a priority for the North London club during the summer window.
Speaking to JD Football, he said: “I see Tottenham signing an important midfielder in the summer, a really important one, I think they want to add something special in that position.”
“[On being linked with wingers]. That kind of player is the priority.”
Tottenham already signed Brennan Johnson this season but it seems that they are looking to add more depth in the wide areas. Signing a goalscoring winger could prove to be a wise decision for them.
Tottenham do not have a reliable goalscorer in their ranks and they need to bring in players who can share the goalscoring burden from multiple areas of the pitch.
The North London outfit are currently pushing for Champions League qualification, and they will want to do well in the European competition next season. They will need to plug the gaps in their squad during the summer transfer window and improving their attacking options will certainly be a priority for them.
They need more quality and depth in the attack when they are up against the best defences in Europe. It will be interesting to see if Tottenham can finish the season strongly and secure a top four finish. It will certainly help them attract top players in the summer.
