Talks with Nuno will not keep Kane at Tottenham claims pundit

Alex McLeish doesn’t think Nuno Espirito Santo can convince Harry Kane to change his mind and remain at Tottenham beyond this summer.

Kane has told Spurs that he wants to change clubs and the Lilywhites will attempt to keep him for another campaign.

The striker is one of the best in the world and looks set to help England win Euro 2020.

While he has been on duty for his country at the Euros, Spurs have named a new manager to replace Jose Mourinho.

Nuno Santo will attempt to convince the striker to stay for one more season at Tottenham.

However, former Scotland manager, McLeish is convinced that Kane will insist on leaving when he finally holds face-to-face talks with his new club manager.

McLeish told Football Insider: “Nuno’s going to say what I said to players who were wanting to leave my clubs.

“Things like: ‘You can be the star player here,’ and all that.

“However, I don’t see Harry staying. I don’t see him staying no matter what Nuno says. I see Harry Kane being determined to leave.

“In these days, where it’s much easier to leave than back in my day, I do think he’s going to take that opportunity. I don’t think there’s any doubt about that.

“It depends on who is willing to pay the fee that is required by Spurs.”

The financial problems that top European clubs are facing could see no team meet Tottenham’s asking price for the striker.

That could be Tottenham’s only saving grace in keeping the England captain.
