Only last week it was reported that Giovani Lo Celso is keen on leaving Spurs and is closing on a summer exit.
Lo Celso has struggled to secure a regular place in the Tottenham squad in recent years and has spent a significant amount of time on loan at Villarreal recently where has impressed.
It was previously reported by journalist Matt Law that the player has his heart set on leaving this summer.
Napoli have been interested in signing him and an exit looked certain with his agent admitting that talks are ongoing.
However, his pre-season performances under new manager Ange Postecoglou seems to have turned his fortunes around.
The Argentine was brilliant against West Ham in Tottenham’s first pre-season game and even got himself on the scoresheet.
And he was on the score sheet once again in yesterday’s friendly in Singapore.
Latest reports from Spanish outlet Mucho Deporte has claimed that Ange Postecoglou has convinced Giovani Lo Celso to stay at Tottenham.
It states that the manager has been left delighted by his performances in pre-season and believes he would “fit into his plans” .
What is even more encouraging is that the player himself is “comfortable both with the manager and with the style of play”.
The midfielder seems to have gotten a second life at Spurs under Ange Postecoglou and so far he is proving himself to be a serious contender for the starting XI next season.
A trio of Yves Bissouma, Giovani Lo Celso and James Maddison looks like an exciting one on paper.
