‘Still understand there’s…’: Ben Jacobs drops update on Tottenham links with Qatari investment

By Saikat -

Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with Qatari investment parties in the last few days.

Club chief Daniel Levy recently confirmed that Tottenham will hold talks with prospective investors regarding the sale of a minority stake in the club. Levy believes that Tottenham needs significant investment in order to achieve their true potential.

Naturally, they have been linked with a number of parties recently and it appears that QSI could be interested in investing in the London club. However, journalist Ben Jacobs has now revealed that there is nothing in the links between Tottenham and QSI so far.

The Qatari investment organisation reportedly held exploratory talks with Tottenham back in January 2023, but they haven’t followed up with any concrete proposal since then.

Jacobs wrote on his social media: “Still understand there’s nothing in links with Sheikh Jassim and Spurs. Club is not on Nine Two Foundation’s radar. QSI did hold exploratory talks with Daniel Levy about minority investment in January 2023, but nothing active going on now.”

It remains to be seen whether Tottenham can find investors in the coming months.

Tottenham need substantial investment

They have an ambitious project and an exciting squad at their disposal. But they still need to improve the squad if they want to compete with clubs like Manchester City. They will need to sign top quality players in the coming seasons and they need more financial resources.

Building a state of the art stadium has certainly boosted their revenues but they need to expand further in order to truly compete with the elite clubs. Bringing in fresh investment would allow them to sign better players in the transfer market and it would help them compete at a high-level consistently. It will be interesting to see how the situation develops.
