Star player with 43 goal contributions ‘says yes’ to Tottenham; clubs discussing fee

Ruslan Malinovskyi has agreed to join Tottenham Hotspur, according to Tutto Atalanta, with Spurs still negotiating a fee for the Atalanta star.

The report claims that Malinovksyi has already ‘said yes’ to Tottenham, and Atalanta are willing to let him go as well but on their terms rather than Spurs’.

Tottenham would like to sign Malinovksyi on loan with a purchase option, but Atalanta are not interested. Instead, they would prefer to sell him for a fee of at least £16.9 million, and if that is not possible, they would prefer to do a loan deal with an obligation to buy clause rather than an optional one. As a result, the two clubs are ‘distant’ at the moment, but Atalanta’s willingness to at least negotiate a loan deal suggests that they can get closer.

Malinovskyi is said to be planning to make the switch in the coming weeks. The ball is now in Tottenham’s court to try to reach an agreement with his club on a fee.

In his last three league seasons, the midfielder has 43 goal contributions, serving as a consistent source of attacking output for Atalanta – while also being capped by Ukraine on 49 occasions and scoring seven goals. If this deal goes through, Tottenham fans will be thrilled, as Malinovskyi could be that missing creative piece of the puzzle and a much cheaper option compared to the other players linked with Spurs.
