Spurs XI vs The Bees [image]

A last-gasp Pontus Jansson winner against Watford secured Brentford their third successive Premier League win.

With their safety secured, the ‘Bees’ are now chasing a top-half finish in their maiden PL season, but the chances of strengthening that top-ten push against Spurs appear slim based on the H2H at least, with Brentford’s last win coming in March 1948 (D3, L9 since).

Brentford may fancy their chances of causing an upset though, with a solid record in London derbies this season which has seen them earn 14 points. Another victory here would see Brentford leapfrog Tottenham in the rankings for most points won in London derbies in a maiden campaign and striking the first goal would certainly boost their chances of doing so, given they are yet to lose a game in which they have scored first (W8, D2).

Tottenham’s four-match winning run ground to an abrupt halt with a surprise 1-0 defeat at the hands of Brighton last time out, although they still remain in a good position to claim the fourth Champions League place.
