Tottenham Hotspur host PSV in matchday 4 of European Champions League on Tuesday 6th November, 8:00pm at Wembley Stadium.

Spurs are winless in five CL matches (D2 L3), our longest ever winless run in a major European competition.

Group B currently looks like this:

Which effectively requires Spurs to have a talent transplant in order to continue meaningfully in the competition.

3rd place redirects us towards the insanity of the Europa League.

I’d prefer 4th spot and an opportunity to regroup against Crystal Palace, because I’m a rational person.

If you wish to invent scenarios whereby we are ‘still very much in this’, be my guest – on someone else’s wall.

Poch is not phased by an early exit, telling the BBC:Β “When you are competitive at that level, if you are not good enough, if you are not clinical, or defend poorly like in the last minute in the Inter Milan game… If you don’t deserve to go, it’s disappointing but not embarrassing.”

OUR XI:Β Gazzaniga, Aurier, Alderweireld, Sanchez, Davies, Winks, Eriksen, Dele, Lucas, Son, Kane (C).

No midfield.

  5. Mad Carew says:

With game changers on the Spurs Bench like Sissoko, Skip, Lamela & Llorente, PSV must feel they have a Mountain to climb tonight.
    3-1 unless we’re cynical, then it’s 5-1.

  6. Limerick AL. says:

If Spurs win then so will Internationale, you all know this will happen.

  10. Elevenstonedidiots says:

We should be f*cked out of the competition anyway for that turd of a playing surface. Laughing stock.

  11. Mad Carew says:

    Spurs turning the screw early

  12. Elevenstonedidiots says:

Good. The players are on message. They dont want ropey league either.

  13. The Tottinghams says:

Austin Power’s Dad was right when he said
“There are only two things I can’t stand in this world. People who are intolerant of other people’s cultures… and the Dutch”.

I am saying this while watching the match from our place in The Hague with my Dutch wife

  14. Cabspur says:

  15. Is Gascoigne gonna have a crac says:

Its going well. How many people have given Levy money tonight?

  16. Is Gascoigne gonna have a crac says:

Who remember Bale storming through Inter at the Lane?
    That was a football club.

  17. Accy says:

    Sell Son.

  18. MrChickenHead says:

    rubbish

  19. Mad Carew says:

    Moura was effective, crazy sub

  20. Mad Carew says:

    Double chance

  21. Accy says:

If aiming at the goal keeper scored you a goal we’d be 3-1 up.

  22. Elevenstonedidiots says:

    We should buy their goalie

  23. Mad Carew says:

    1/1 Tottenham 5/2 PSV 11/4
    Current odds Bet 365

  24. Lilywhite without the II says:

ohh dear…..crowd has woken up a bit though..

  25. Accy says:

Everything breaks down with Son atm

  26. Limerick AL. says:

Is Levy The Liar at the game ? Yet to see the Evil Genius.

  27. Eddie says:

Levy wouldn’t turn up because he knows the crowd will turn against him if we are eliminated.I suspect he’s hiding in the cheese room with some crackers and Camembert and a glass of port.

  28. Mad Carew says:

We’re going out of this Competition like a damp Squid.

  29. Elevenstonedidiots says:

If i had a prosthetic leg i could still cross the ball better than Davies

  30. Limerick AL. says:

    Bring On Lamela.

  31. legoverlass says:

Typical sub by Pooch. Take off our most effective attacking player in Moura. What planet does Pooch inhabit when he makes subs…. crazy

  32. Eddie says:

Well that was underwhelming. Our normal game loads of possession,no end product.Yes their keeper has kept them in the game, but the save from Dele apart, all the efforts have been straight at him.
I would rather come bottom and have no Euro games to distract us from the rest of the season.

  33. Cabspur says:

What’s the attendence? Looks about 30000

  34. Mad Carew says:

Eriksen won’t wait around forever, I believe the Children are our future, treat them well and let them see the way.

  35. Limerick AL. says:

Walker and Rose. Now we have Tweedle Dum and Tweedle Dee. Will Botch make a HT change ?

  38. Elevenstonedidiots says:

    My god Aurier. Absolute gash.

  39. Mad Carew says:

It’s only a matter of time, Keep the Filth !

  40. Limerick AL. says:

If we qualify for the Europa we will win it. Providing Arse and Chelski are not bothered, they would Win it out of Spite.

  41. Sid Trotter says:

    We’re still out of this

  42. Sid Trotter says:

The irony is, we’re actually playing well

  43. Accy says:

Sooo the Inter Barca game is level…hmmn.

  44. Mad Carew says:

We don’t need nor want Europa and at this rate we don’t deserve European Competition. As a fan it’s painful to watch skilled players unable to lift their game, to galvanise themselves, Poch spoke of Glory but this is far from Glory.

  45. Mad Carew says:

    Super save

  46. Is Gascoigne gonna have a crac says:

Inter and Barca playing for a draw

  47. Lilywhite without the II says:

    Tripps you goat!

  48. Lilywhite without the II says:

£17.50 for a Man City CL game ticket and they cant sell them…pffttt

  49. Sid Trotter says:

ok so this may be wrong, but I’m actually starting to see some fire and resilience from us, champions in the making soon, not this year, but soon, there’s a mentality we haven’t had before, one that keeps on fighting …. but I may be wrong

  50. Is Gascoigne gonna have a crac says:

Oh ffs. Europa league. Well done you mugs

  51. Is Gascoigne gonna have a crac says:

    Inter immediately equalise. Ridiculous farce.

  52. Accy says:

    Awsome save

The only good thing from Davies all game.

  55. Mad Carew says:

    Haha 2-1

  56. Lilywhite without the II says:

    bread and butter goal..you brat..

  57. Mad Carew says:

    Barca in front

  58. Mad Carew says:

    Inter have just equalised

  59. Accy says:

Davies put in a decent ball 😳

  60. Accy says:

    F my life

  61. East Stand says:

    Aurier fans, where are ya?

  62. Eddie says:

Home and away eyes, might have know.

  63. dilly says:

    Hello
Before Easty predictably berates me for my negatives, rescued by Kane reflecting on this pleasing but laboured turgid victory when will it dawn on Poch that we lack width, pace and creativity in midfield and penetration up front plenty of possession but no cutting edge. Davies again had a shocker out of his depth and Aurier is a complete waste of space. Flakey Alli and Eriksen did little.
Poch missed the nous to shake up the side at HT.
2 positives Winks had one of his better games and when Moura dribbled like Messi he did everything apart from score like Messi!!

    • dilly says:

2 full backs constantly failing to get to the byline and cross a decent ball into the box. Roobish. Ok he is not perfect but at least pacy KWP offers an attacking outlet!

      • dilly says:

        Poch looked pretty cheesed off.
HT: Poch should have made a triple subs: On Lamela (who actually did nothing when he came on), Skipp for Eriksen and Llorente for Alli should have all come on.

    • East Stand says:

      What does all this mean?

  64. MrChickenHead says:

I want to go for a body surf but I’m too scared. Sharks are having a right go at us downunder at the moment.

    • Aussie in Switzerland says:

No surf in the Whitsundays, you sound like a Victorian. Chomp Chomp

      • MrChickenHead says:

No surf in Botany Bay either I have to go to Maroubra for Surf, no good for the kids there though, there was another attack this morning up in Ballina.

  65. dilly says:

This was a victory that was a tribute to persistence rather than high quality in a Wembley atmosphere subdued by the struggles, for much of the time, of the home team and the swathes of empty red seats in a crowd of 46,588 that was down on the night’s capacity and meant barely half the seating was used.
    (BBC Sport)

“If we can beat Inter then we will both have seven points,” said the Poch. “Then in one game anything can happen. We will go to Barcelona [for the final group match] to try to win the game. The belief is still there. I am so optimistic.”
    (BBC Sport)
Optimistic? Beating Barcelona in their own backyard. Simples. Yes sure!!
    Forget it…

    • East Stand says:

You’re right its unlikely but as usual I’m sure you would have been equally pessimistic before be beat Real Madrid last season…

Interestingly for you, the much overhyped Liverpool of which you speak so highly were beaten soundly by European minnows Red Star Belgrade.

      • East Stand says:

Useless and toothless with Salah a pale imitation of the player he was last season, VanDyke sadly not having the desired effect of improving their defence in Belgrade despite costing over 80m from Saints. A woeful performance given the level of investment, Klopp useless…

    • dilly says:

Hang on boosting our hopes presumably Barca may already have qualified?

    • dilly says:

      Impressed with imposing Gazzaniga,

  66. Elevenstonedidiots says:

Apparently Inter had one shot all night and scored. You gotta love the Italians, you wont see them conceding after 90 secs

  67. Lilywhite without the II says:

Roll on getting the f u c k out of Wembley…its soul sapping..

  68. Tappaspur says:

Just got me paws on tickets for all our December home games for no money! (Tottenham community centre link) “They c a n t even give em away! Errm:-) πŸ™‚ Said to my bredrin “I’d better soak up as much live spurs as I can. C a n t see myself getting to see many games at the new place” “why not he said? our community will be getting much more free tickets next season and lot of concession tickets too. (Probably not many if any for big games. My grandson and I will get to more games than I expected. C’mon levy keep the locals sweet. πŸ™‚

    • East Stand says:

All we need now is some decent signings for you to go and watch, with the stadium debt etc the might need to continue giving tickets away to fill the place up!!

      • Tappaspur says:

You could look at it like that. I’m not. Tired of it. C’mon TOTTENHAM PLAYERS! Oh and I’m not worried in the slightest about the soon to be relatively peanuts debt. Not gonna waste my worry on whether we’re gonna bring in real quality in the summer either. gonna go support the team when I can. Have a scream and a shout and give my emotions free reign. Pipe outor passion. Thats what its all about remember.
