Spurs Twitter Admin hits delete over Champions League Tweet

By The Boy -

One of the very many problems with social media is the immediacy with which your weak spots can be savaged. For Spurs, this isn’t a new thing, and fans will recall the ill-fated partnership with Dulux. In that instance, it was the guy operating the paint supplier’s account who sabotaged his own channel’s message by suggesting Tottenham could paint their trophy cabinet (insert meme of cobwebbed display case here).

Yesterday, another own goal, as the Spurs social manager posted an innocent image to herald our return to club football’s top table. Sadly, the whole Spursy thing was never going to be overlooked by those weirdos that stalk other clubs’ accounts and the ‘bottle-job’ abuse rained down in biblical proportions.

The hijacked tweet was deleted in minutes. Maybe, just maybe, this club ought to put the football first, and then these red-faced moments could easily become a thing of the past.

I thought it was a pic of the new LWB…. It’s clearly an upgrade on what we currently have.

For a second I thought it was a photo of Tintin.

Strange choice, hardly an exciting image irrespective of connotations – just trying to flog merch?
