Tottenham Hotspur faced a setback in their transfer pursuits as long-term target Ansu Fati, whom they were hoping to sign on loan, is reportedly heading to Brighton.
Spurs are now reportedly shifting their focus towards Crystal Palace’s star Eberechi Eze as a potential addition to their squad.
A report from the Independent claims that Spurs are considering a move for the 25-year-old.
However, Eze is valued highly by Crystal Palace, with a reported asking price of more than £60 million.
This valuation presents a challenge for Spurs, as it is even higher than Nottingham Forest’s asking price for another player linked with Tottenham, Brennan Johnson.
Eze is Crystal Palace’s best player at the moment and has proven himself in the Premier League over the last couple of years.
The 25-year-old has scored 10 goals and four assists across all competitions last season. And has bagged 40 goals and 26 assists in 231 senior appearances across his career.
He is a versatile player that can play on either wing as well as a No.10. Ange is known to prefer versatile players who can play a number of different positions.
If Spurs do sign him, he could make an immediate impact at Tottenham bringing in pace, flair and goals to the side.
TBH Says:
We are being linked with players left and right but it is starting to get worrying as the clock ticks closer to the deadline day.
Spurs are yet to agree a deal for a striker and failing to sign a quality striker could have a negative impact on the rest of the season.
