Wolfsburg defender Micky van de Ven continues to be linked with a move to Tottenham hotspur.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Tottenham have now submitted a ‘verbal opening proposal’ for the 22-year-old Dutch defender.
‘Negotiations are ongoing’ with the German club and the deal is not done yet.
The two parties are currently closing in on an agreement with regards to contract details and the two clubs will need to agree on a transfer fee in order for the deal to go through.

Meanwhile, the player’s agent has now revealed in an interview that a move to Tottenham would be good for the player but there is no agreement with Wolfsburg yet.
“We have to talk to VfL first. I think Tottenham would be a good move for Micky. But there is no agreement,” Jose Fortes Rodriguez said (h/t WAZ online).
The 22-year-old has done quite well in the Bundesliga and he has the attributes to succeed in English football as well.
He will add defensive quality and pace to the Tottenham backline next season. The Dutchman could form a quality partnership with Cristian Romero at the heart of Tottenham’s defence and he would be a solid long-term investment for the north London club.
If Tottenham managed to sign in for a reasonable price, the move could prove to be a masterstroke in the long run.
The 22-year-old is highly rated around Europe and he has been linked with other Premier League clubs as well. He has the potential to develop into a top-class defender and Tottenham must do everything in their power to get the deal done.
