Spurs remain keen on Bayern Munich star and his contract demands are revealed

Bayern Munich’s Jerome Boateng remains a top transfer target for Tottenham ahead of next season.

The Lilywhites have struggled at the back for much of this campaign despite their best efforts to avoid that problem.

After landing Gareth Bale to make their attack more fearsome, Spurs looked to bring in a new defender for their then manager, Jose Mourinho.

His preference was Inter Milan’s Milan Skriniar and the Lilywhites tried to sign the Slovakian for him.

However, they couldn’t agree with his Italian team and they had to settle for Joe Rodon from Swansea.

Rodon has hardly improved the defence in this campaign and they are expected to add at least another defender when the transfer window reopens.

Boateng is one they are considering, according to Bild as he enters the free agency market.

The report says the former Germany international is considering offers from Spurs and other teams.

He wants a three-year deal from his next club and he is willing to take a pay cut to his current 12m euros per season wages.

Spurs will be getting a very experienced centre-back if they sign him, however, he isn’t getting any younger and might not offer them stability for the long term.

He also struggled in the Premier League earlier in his career when he played for Manchester City.
