Spurs Pull The Plug On Gattuso Amid Revelation Of World Views Some Find Questionable

David Ornstein of The Athletic believes Tottenham has pulled the plug on their ambitions to sign Gennaro Gattuso. As #NoToGattuso trended online, the despair and frustration of supporters reached a new low. The Metro ran an informative piece detailing some of the Italian’s thought crimes, which included the legitimacy of women in football, playing down a racist incident in 2012, and unsupportive remarks in respect of same-sex marriage in 2008.

For me, this alleged pursuit of a notoriously ‘fiery’ individual didn’t make any sense whatsoever. Who in their right mind would want Gattuso associated with their brand? The man has had 12 clubs, won one cup, and only stayed at any side for more than one year on three occasions.

For Daniel Levy, the Spurs CEO can clasp his hands and lay on a forced smile all he wants about ‘protecting the club’ but his actions do not match his words.

Today marks the passing of Tottenham’s second month without a coach, which for a club with pretensions way above and beyond most people’s perceptions tells you all you need to know. Nobody is in a hurry to take this job and, and nobody could blame them.
