According to recent reports, Tottenham are interested in signing Blackburn Rovers star Ben Brereton Diaz.
The striker’s contract with Blackburn is set to expire at the end of the season and it’s believed that he has informed Jon Dahl Tomasson’s side that he will not be signing a new deal.
Hence, the club must decide whether to sell him in January for a small fee or let him go for free in the summer with a number of Premier League clubs interested in signing him.
According to a report from 90min, Spurs, West Ham, Manchester United, Aston Villa, Crystal Palace, Brighton and Wolves, are all keeping an eye on the player with the clubs’ officials ‘in attendance’ at Blackburn’s matches to watch him play multiple times over the last few weeks.
Antonio Conte’s side is also reportedly ‘interested’ and ‘ready to make a move’ in 2023, with a fee of around ‘£10million’ expected to be enough to seal a deal in January.
Tottenham have been severely impacted by injuries recently, with Harry Kane forced to play every game due to a lack of attacking players, so Brereton Diaz could be a much-needed signing to add some squad depth.
The 23-year-old striker who has been dubbed ‘extraordinary‘ has scored ten goals and provided one assist in 22 apps across all competitions this season.
The Stoke-on-Trent-born talent is also versatile, having played in midfield, on the left wing, and at centre-forward, making him the ideal player for Conte and at the price that he is available at, it would be an absolute steal.
