Spurs offer two players to Roma in exchange for Zaniolo but Mourinho ‘prefers’ another duo

TuttoASRoma have reported that Jose Mourinho is willing to let go of Nicolo Zaniolo in exchange for Tottenham’s Sergio Reguilon and Oliver Skipp.

Nicolo Zaniolo has been linked with Tottenham all summer with reports suggesting that Antonio Conte is ‘desperate’ to sign him.

According to TuttoASRoma, the ‘only real offer’ for Zaniolo this summer has come from Tottenham, who have bid €40 million for the player who is thought to be valued by Roma at €50 million.

It is suggested that the North London club has offered Japhet Tanganga and Tanguy Ndombele in exchange for the Italian and although Mourinho is a fan of Tanganga, he is not interested in signing Ndombele. However, it is reported that the Roma manager will ‘prefer’ to take Oliver Skipp and Sergio Reguilon in exchange for Zaniolo.

The report by TuttoASRoma also says that for now the attacking midfielder is set to remain at Roma with Mourinho planning to use him on the right-wing after Dybala’s arrival.

It is a saga that has been ongoing all summer now with some reports suggesting the deal is close to completion while some suggesting Mourinho does not want to sell the attacker. It is lots of speculation at this point and nothing concrete. At some point Conte, Fabio and Levy will have to take a decision and perhaps retract on their interest in the Roma man and go for James Maddison who is available for a similar fee and is interested in signing for Tottenham.
