SPURS’ ODDS SLASHED FOLLOWING CHAMPIONS LEAGUE DRAW

By The Boy -

Ladbrokes have slashed both Manchester City and Tottenham’s odds for the Champions League following the draw this evening.

City has further cemented their position at the head of the betting at 9/4 from 5/2 off the back of a very good draw, while they are 1/8 to top their group.

Spurs have been cut to 16/1 from 20/1, while it’s 4/7 that they top Group D.

Meanwhile, Bayern Munich and Barcelona are big drifters at 13/2 (from 11/2) and 16/1 (from 12/1) respectively, after being drawn together with Inter Milan in the same group.

PSG remains the 5/1 second-favourites, ahead of Liverpool at 11/2. Chelsea is priced at 16/1.

Elsewhere, Ladbrokes go 1/3 that Celtic progress further than Rangers, who are 2/1.

Nicola McGeady of Ladbrokes said: “Man City have further cemented their position at the head of the Champions League betting after landing a very good draw. They were already the best-backed side in the book, but support for them has gone through the roof this evening since the draw was revealed.”

If we can’t get out of that group we had no right being in the competition. By winning 3 games in the group and qualifying we get about £20m more in prize money. That is another Championship right back for next Summer’s transfer window!

Imagine we were drawn in group C with Bayern, Barca and Inter..

Give me Frankfurt and Marseille all day.

We definitely have the least difficult group.. Not sure why we’re on an even keel with Barca and the Chavs to win it.. We should be down with Athletico at 40-1.

Quick reminder: there’s no silverware for getting out of the group.
