Spurs linked with Celtic star as they plan to hit the bargain basement in the summer

Tottenham is lining up a move for Celtic defensive midfielder Ismaila Soro as they look to bolster their team at the lowest possible cost.

The Ivorian only moved to Celtic in January and hardly played before Neil Lennon left.

He has since become a key member of their team and has made 20 appearances for them already.

Tottenham will look to bolster their squad in the summer after another underwhelming campaign.

Spurs have fired Jose Mourinho and will probably name a new manager before the transfer windows open.

But they have already started identifying players that will hopefully improve the team next season and Mail Sport says they consider Soro a signing that won’t cost them too much and can get the job done.

After spending money on the wages of Gareth Bale and the signature of Matt Doherty, Sergio Reguilon, among others, Spurs will be working with a more restrictive budget in the summer.

The report says Soro is exactly the type of player that they would be looking at bringing in to complement their already expensively assembled stars.

The 22-year-old moved to Scotland for just £2.7million from the Israeli side Bnei Yehuda.
