Tottenham are hoping to sign the Dutch central defender Micky van de Ven this summer.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Tottenham have now opened direct talks with Wolfsburg regarding a move for the 22-year-old defender and they will submit a verbal proposal soon.
Apparently, the Dutchman is keen on the move and it remains to be seen whether Spurs can agree on a fee with his club.

Moving to the Premier League would be a major step up in his career and the defender will be hoping to showcase his qualities at a higher level.
It is no secret that Tottenham will have to improve their defensive department in the summer and van de Ven could be a quality partner for Cristian Romero. Apart from his defensive abilities, the 22-year-old will add some pace to the Tottenham backline as well.
The Bundesliga defender’s recovery pace could prove to be priceless for Tottenham especially if they decide to play a high line next season. The newly appointed manager Ange Postecoglou prefers to play free-flowing attacking football and van de Ven could prove to be the ideal acquisition for him.
Romano claims that Bayer Leverkusen defender Edmond Tapsoba is on the Tottenham wish list as well but the 24-year-old Burkina Faso international is likely to cost more than the Dutchman.
Tottenham must improve their squad in order to get back into the Champions League and the 22-year-old central defender could prove to be a solid long-term investment.
