Spurs eyeing 63-yr-old manager who has been one of the best in Europe this season

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly keeping tabs on the Napoli manager Luciano Spalletti.

Antonio Conte could leave the club at the end of the season when his contract expires and Spurs will have to bring in a quality replacement. Although the Premier League club have the option to extend Conte’s deal for another season, a lot will depend on whether the Italian wants to continue at the London club.

Meanwhile, Spalletti has been one of the best managers in Europe this season.

The 63-year-old’s free-flowing attacking football has attracted praise from all over the globe and Napoli have been flying since the start of the campaign. The Italian outfit are currently on top of the league table and they are unbeaten in 22 of their 23 league matches. Furthermore, they have one step in the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals as well having picked up a 2-0 win against Eintracht Frankfurt in the first leg of the knockout rounds.

Talented young players like Victor Osimhen and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia have excelled under his management and Spalletti could prove to be a quality acquisition for Tottenham. The London club have a number of top-quality talents at their disposal and Spalletti could get them playing an exciting brand of football next season.

However, Tottenham are not the only Premier League club keen on the Italian manager. The likes of Chelsea and Everton are eyeing up a move for the 63-year-old as well as per Il Mattino.

Spalletti has a contract with Napoli until the summer of 2023 but the Italian outfit have the option to trigger a one-year extension and they are likely to follow through with that. It remains to be seen whether Napoli can convince the 63-year-old to commit his long-term future to the club in the coming months.
