Tottenham’s fans have revealed how hopeful they are for the remainder of the Premier League season as part of Sky Bet’s Fan Hope Survey.
On a scale of 1-10 (1 being not optimistic at all, 10 being very optimistic) Spurs fans ranked their hopes at 4.97 – placing them 15th in the overall Premier League rankings.
2019/20 was a season to forget for Spurs fans who, having watched their team reach the Champions League final the previous season, saw the sacking of the much-loved Mauricio Pochettino in November with the club in 14th place, with ex-Chelsea boss Mourinho arriving as his replacement.
The Portuguese manager has a chance to win the club’s first silverware since 2008, as they face Manchester City in the upcoming Carabao Cup Final. However, not all fans are convinced with Mourinho, and 22% believe the club’s top priority should be getting a new manager in the summer.
However, it’s not all doom and gloom for Spurs, as 64% of fans still expect the club to qualify for the Champions League this season.
In terms of transfers, supporters see the backline of the team as the area in most urgent need of re-enforcements. Despite considerable investment in recent seasons on the likes of Joe Rodon, and Davinson Sanchez, 22% of Spurs fans want to see the acquisition of a central defender prioritised ahead of next season.

The research was completed by Sky Bet and YouGov as part of The Fan Hope Survey Round 2. The research asked fans of each Premier League club a series of questions about their expectations of the new season.
The research was completed by Sky Bet in partnership with YouGov and surveyed 2,108 UK adults aged 18+ who are fans of the associated clubs.

Pleased to say I’m in the 64 percent who believe.. It’s astonishing anyone believes we will end up 15th.. 22 per cent? 22 carrot plonker fans. We were only in 9th because a few weak links and a couple mistakes have let us down.
