Report: Spanish Club is ‘attentive’ to player’s situation and has ‘already met with Tottenham’

Valencia are reportedly keen on signing the Tottenham Hotspur winger Bryan Gil this summer.

According to a report from Plaza Deportiva, the Spanish club will only be able to sign the talented young winger if they can finalise the exit of Goncalo Guedes.

Gil was on loan at the Spanish club last season and the 21-year-old managed to impress the club hierarchy during his 17 appearances for them. They remain ‘attentive’ to his situation.

It is evident that he is not a key part of Antonio Conte’s first team plans at Tottenham and therefore a move away from the London club would be ideal for him.

A player of his calibre needs to play regularly in order to fulfil his tremendous potential and Valencia could provide him with the platform. Spurs have already signed the likes of Ivan Perisic and Richarlison this summer and Gil is likely to drop further down the pecking order.

The report adds that Tottenham are open to selling the player permanently and it remains to be seen whether Valencia can afford him before the transfer window closes.

The English club paid a fee of around £21.6 million for the talented young winger. The transfer also witnessed Erik Lamela heading the other way.

The Spanish club have ‘already met with Tottenham’ earlier on in the window and it will be interesting to see how the situation develops over the next few weeks.
