A source close to Tottenham believes that Daniel Levy will employ the same strategy used with Torino’s Andrea Belotti, namely to offer a loan proposition, with an option to buy – this time – for Real Madrid’s Vinícius Júnior.
Now this isn’t the first time this 20-year-old has been linked with Spurs, or indeed a move to the Premier League. Back in December 2019, there was flurry of interest precipitated by a piece in El Desmarque, discussing the likelihood of the boy coming to Europe, but the suggester transfer fee was prohibitive. Right now, Transfermarkt believe the Brazilian to be worth a little over £40million.
Is this the big strong centre forward Mourinho has been looking for? It looks unlikely. The lad is over 10kilos lighter than Harry Kane and several inches shorter. In fact, looking at his all-time heat map, this is more a replacement for Sonny or Dele Alli…
We’ll dig deeper into the boy’s stats, but for now, this is, to misquote Sir Alec Guinness, ‘not the striker we have been looking for’.
got a link?
Forget Vinicius Real have only added one player to their squad so they won’t be loaning him.
I thought it was Carlos Vinicius from Benfica.
I’ve heard we are interested in leandro damiao????? Stop it. He’s no intention of parting with cash that he views as his not the clubs. And as lillywhite correctly points out 8th richest in the world, with 3 times as many keepers as strikers. ..
The simple fact Lewis was wanted by Klopp tells the story. He always looked better than Aaron’s for me too. Having Sess gets in the way, why would Levy sanction a deal for 3 left backs (even though he would be great). Sess needs to take a look and improve soon. Wilson would have been decent, if not spectacular, but beggars can’t be choosers.
Match day and here we are again, the eighth richest club and we have 1 striker…1…
His heat-map says it all…Nkoudou…NO THANKS!
Don’t see this one at all H.
Out last night so caught up with MOTD this morning.Admittedly only highlights, but Wilson and Jamal Lewis have fitted straight into the Barcode side. Both looked lively and I would suggest a trick missed on both.
Lewis is far more offensive than Davies, with good crossing of the ball and is good defensively and Wilson showed that he would be good playing instead of Kane. Also he is capable of playing alongside him. Both are homegrown too.
This is a prime example of how not to do business. Levy should be taking advantage of the need for cash amongst other clubs who are desperate to sell. Enic should make an interest free loan to the club to invest in the transfer market as there has not been a better time to do this for a long time. We could invigorate an ageing and depleted squad , relatively cheaply, which would catapult us back into contention and cement our place as genuine title contenders for the next few seasons. Unfortunately, instead of having a dynamic, forward thinking CEO we have a David Brent character under whom we continue to achieve nothing of any note except increasing our debt. If anybody has read Oliver Holt’s article in the Mail on Sunday, which is primarily about the Amazon documentary, they will come away in a very depressed state.
The annual world tour of back up strikers continues but saying that I am sure we will get one in
