Sources: Euro 2020 Tournament Kicked Back To Next Summer

The odds of football returning to a state that’s anything close to business as normal may have taken a significant dent, with The Athletic reporting that this summer’s European championship has been provisionally rescheduled to next summer.

The Premier League along with every other professional division has obviously been suspended, and one current view is that this initial period is one to allow the sport’s authorities to collect their thoughts and then work on medium-term strategy.

UEFA, being mindful of the individual league’s immediate desire to wrap up their own championships, before getting involved in the European one.

The postponement of the Euros would surely be a good thing for Spurs fans worried about Harry Kane lapsing into his usual routine of being incapable of turning a game down. A lack of football after such a long time out wouldn’t be a bad idea for the 26-year-old, at all.
