Source Close To Mourinho: Gaffer’s patience with striker signing is wearing thin

A billion pound stadium and just the one striker on the club’s books – or the old ‘Fur coat and no knickers’ syndrome as it is more commonly known. Hardly surprising then that David Woods from The Sun has gossip from José Mourinho’s camp.

What has added to José’s frustrations is that a huge chunk of Tottenham’s wage bill have been splurged on Gareth Bale, arguably a player that Spurs didn’t desperately need? Add to this, the transfer window closes in a week, and there are still far too many players that the Special One doesn’t need, clogging the books.

Danny Rose, Juan Foyth and most recently Dele Alli all need to be moved on. even if it is on a loan basis, but as yet, there hasn’t been any meaningful speculation about any of them.

The mend and make do routine has to end under Mourinho, or Spurs will for the umpteenth time find themselves unable to compete meaningfully – by which I mean WIN something.

Failing to even sign a makeweight like Callum Wilson will come back to haunt us.
