Troy Parrott will start for the Republic Of Ireland this evening in an international friendly against New Zealand at the Arriva stadium in Dublin, and the Tottenham boy must be absolutely brimming with confidence.
Tonight’s game is the lads’ first team full debut and the excitement will have been mounting for a while, as the starting line up was announced a day in advance by the FAI.
Ireland vs New Zealand will kick off at 7:45pm on Thursday 14th November 2019. Coverage begins from 7:40 on Sky Sports.
The Eire gaffer Mick McCarthy is an old football hand, and known for not mincing his words, so the praise given here is not to be taken lightly.
Parrott’s senior debut will of course require him to participate in a traditional initiation ceremony business of singing a song in front of his teammates – the thought of this ordeal doesn’t appear to have flustered the Dubliner.

*Wtf
Ok so Rose is staying , we just gave Davis a new contract and we have Sessegnon whf
Don’t necessarily have an issue with the contract rebels winding down their contracts – it’s their right to do so. Levy crapped all over them by offering them less than market rate wages (in spite of their performances deserving of better remuneration at the time) yet gave others hefty pay rises (himself included). What I would expect though is that they act as true professionals while they are still here and put in the effort on the pitch when called upon, not phone it in. I’m looking at you CE23.
PSB will sort him out with that, don’t you worry.
Can anyone tell me how many tens of millions of pounds worth of talent did we have on the pitch against the mighty Gillingham? Levy is clearly delusional.
Wayne Burnett head of youth development or whatever the job he’s not doing is called. You couldn’t make it up. Out that fool man
One little fault I used to see in his game was he never demanded the ball enough or his communication with the servers. Illustrating where he wants it with body language. He’ll learn all that though.
When I used to watch the boy Troy at the lamex I’d think all this boy needs to do is strengthen his core and he’ll be ready for big man football. It seems like he’s done that. He’s put a bit of body muscle on too. He’s “got it” I’ll tell you that. Sly baller.
He’s already being pushed as Kane’s cheap buyrite replacement. I’m sure he could be a good player but 2 phenoms in 1 decade? I just hope he’s not asked too much of like Winks has been. You need experience around you.
I think he’d get games in that Liverpool outfit. Not saying they’d buy him though.
Here here. Max%.
Parrott certainly seems very confident,I just hope he keeps his feet on the ground and doesn’t end up like so many youngsters who show real promise at a young age and think they’ve arrived and stop working. The real work starts to remain at the top.
Yeah I can see him pushing Robertson down to the bench.
This situation with Rose, Toby, Jan and Eriksen all out of contract at the same time is the result of wilful neglect of his responsibilities by Levy.
Levy is the one that should be sacked, one League Cup in 18 years just doesn’t cut it for me…
If he can’t get in our side at the moment, what chance do you reckon he has of getting in Liverpool’s?
Levy should get him on a long term contract before he signs for Liverpool….
