Some good news for Tottenham fans with star man close to signing a new contract

By Bruce Grove -

Son Heung-min is close to signing a new Tottenham contract in what should be major positive news for the club.

Tottenham sacked their manager and faced a backlash from their fans because they decided to join the suspended European Super League.

Daniel Levy has had to preside over all that negativity in the last few days and he will be delighted with the latest development.

This has been arguably Son’s best season in England with the South Korean already involved in 24 goals and assists in 32 Premier League games.

He has formed a deadly partnership with Harry Kane in the Tottenham attack which almost won them the Carabao Cup trophy.

His performances this season deserves a new deal especially if the club wants to protect itself from losing him for a small transfer fee.

Team Talk says Son will soon sign a new deal as negotiations have reached an advanced stage.

The future of his strike partner, Kane, remains uncertain and the club cannot afford to lose both of them.

If Kane does end up leaving it is at least some small consolation that Son will not be following him out of the door.

If he had any ambition, he’d leave this summer. It’s interesting how managers linked to Spurs are one by one being ruled out. They can see what a shambles it is at the club under Levy.

“We almost won the Carabao Cup” is a statement as wide of the mark as the one stating that Son is close to signing a new contract. He looks uninterested and who could blame him. Levy has destroyed this teams morale. Constant failure and foul ups on Daniels part has led to the mental surrender of some of our finest. No manager in his right mind would touch our club with a barge pole.

He also has been overplayed, it’s no surprise he shows his best form early then fades as tiredness takes hold.

sons form problem happens every year after he is talked up in the press he tries to think and his game goes to bits, because instead of doing what he is great at, running dribbling and scoring goals – he tries to be a ballplayer the subtle passer of the ball, the anticipation his game slows and he gets it wrong -yes he can do these things sometimes when he is on the move. but it’s instinctive.

His best season ??

The lad has looked lost and devoid of any confidence for half of the season, If he signs a new contract I’m sure we will see a much improved Son next season, with the right appointment of course.

If this story originated with the Star,I would be very sceptical about is truth.Son has looked well below form in recent games and doesn’t look a happy bunny. If I was a betting man i would say he would look for a move along with Kane. They both deserve better.

Poor Son, I feel sorry for him. He will never win anything with spurs, maybe he will be satisfied with that but kane will not.

No one showed up in finals!! Better clubs would recognise that and not blame one person. He’d be an asset to any big club and I’ve no doubt that if he did become available there’d be a scramble to sign him.
