Solved: The Mystery Of Mourinho’s Audio Leak

By The Boy -

Two days ago we brought you a clip of footage from Hotspur Way, shot by the club, that has since been removed by the charming people at Twitter, due to a claim by the copyright owner. The audio from the Spurs TV footage managed to pick up José Mourinho saying something along the lines of… “You want to stay here? Or go to Real Madrid and play no football?”, which set fans wondering exactly whom the gaffer was talking to or about?

David Woods for The Sun believes that Mourinho was talking to his No 2 Joao Sacramento, and other backroom staff. Is there a crisis? To paraphrase Tommy Lee Jones’ line in No Country For Old Men, I’d say that this situation will do until until the crisis gets here.

At the risk of repeating myself, it is overwhelmingly clear that Bale – along with Dele Alli – isn’t capable of showing enough promise in training to earn a place in José’s starting XI.

No wonder Bale was permanently laughing – a million quid a month, and how much game time has he played? The entire situation is farcical, another Daniel Levy special, just in case anyone forgot he was still involved.

The plot thickens, as it always seems to do eventually under Levy & Co…

Correct, he could have been simply relaying the conversation to somebody else on the staff.

If it’s not either Bale or Reggie then it might be another player who Real have been sniffing around. Kane, Son, Tangy, could be anyone half decent really…

My apologies, yes, José left the summer that Gareth moved. My bad. And as for what chunk of his wages we’re paying, that differs according to which sources you use, but suffice to say, it’s a huge wedge of wonga for a bit-part player.
But you’re right. I find it hard to believe Levy would agree to pay that amount out if the manager didn’t want him.

I heard the first words.. And this doesn’t necessarily mean he was talking directly to the individual. He could simply be repeating the conversation.. Which is what most people do… Your second sentence which you heard doesn’t even make sense mate.

Spurs are paying him 220k a week… Which is about a million a month.

220k a week we are paying… And Maureen never managed Bale at Madrid. He tried to sign him. He also recommended him to Perez after he left… I find it very strange if Maureen didn’t want him.. Surely the manager and chairman and recruitment team have to work in sync.. Surely they asked Maureen yes or no?.. Maureen hailed Levy as a genius in the last window. Exceeded expectations he said.

I think it’s good money Tapppa, to be fair. From what I’ve seen he’s not fit, he’s not sharp, he’s lacking confidence, and he’s putting on the brakes to avoid the inevitable injuries he’s been prone to for most of his career.
Maybe if he was a few years younger, and it was a permanent transfer, where you had a season or two to bed him in and get him firing… but he’s a season-long loan. Half of that loan has been largely a waste of time and money.
He’s been out of the prem for going on 8 years now, and for me, doesn’t look up to the job.

If Jose wanted him you’d imagine he would have been more involved by now. Possibly a PR stunt by Levy to try and get himself in the fan’s good books and soften the blow of not making the Champions League this season. Or something like that.

Given the amount of wages, the management and the chairman look further apart than one might have imagined. Certainly on this matter, there seems to be very little joined up thinking at all… 🤔

Mourinho let’s situations fester instead of sorting them out, if there is a problem then sort it out, who’s benefiting from this apart from Mourinho’s ego, even Hoddle thinks he should be playing more.

We’ve one of the best football managers in the world – who has managed Bale at Madrid. If he’s not being picked, or even subbed on for 15 minutes, you can be assured it’s for good reason. Whether that’s because of fitness or application is anyone’s guess, but as the weeks go by, (half a season of weeks in fact) and there continues to be a big, very expensive Gareth-shaped gap in the team, alarm bells are ringing.
I agree with Harry, the fanfare has turned to farce. Half a season of nowt. José’s not been overheared talking to Sacramento, and certainly not Reguillon.
Our club is effectively paying Madrid in the order of 260k a week for a squib that’s been marinated in water.

its 600k a week so 2.4m a month. no idea where anyone got a million a month from. spurs are “only” paying 800k of that monthly sum.

Whatever the excuses, there is not enough of a reason not to play him, our goal tally would increase for one thing.

Bale reaches the bench a lot more than Dele, so I guess Bale is a hairswidth (or injury to starter) away from a start. Lucas and Bergwin and Dele have had a previous system to get used to playing the Mourinho way. So, the money spent on Bale has not been the best money spent so far… but he might still get to prove the difference between a cup-final win and a cu-final loss this season.

A million quid a month? Obscene.

Did he say “you want to stay here…” if he did it indicates he is talking directly to the individual(s) concerned.
If he said “you want he doesn’t stay here he goes to Real Madrid and stays on vacation” that indicates he is talking to someone about an individual. This is what I heard.
It also suggests he was not talking about Bale or Reguilon, otherwise he would say back to Real Madrid.

I’m confused – Jao and the boys are coaches they dont play football. Does Woods mean Jose said to Jao “So I told Gareth……………”
but dont they speak in Portugeezer at work?
