Sky Sports pundit sends out a warning after Tottenham defeat

Tottenham Hotspur crashed to a 2-0 defeat against Aston Villa in their last Premier League game.

The Londoners are currently fighting for a place in the top four and they simply cannot afford to put out performances like the one against Villa if they are to secure Champions League qualification.

Tottenham manager Antonio Conte was understandably frustrated after the game and he revealed during the post-match press conference that the club need to sign numerous quality players in order to compete with the top Premier League clubs for the league title.

Conde is clearly unhappy with the development of the side and their performances this season.

It will be interesting to see if the Italian decides to end his spell at Tottenham and leave the club at the end of the season. His contract will expire in the summer and Tottenham have not been able to agree on a new contract with him.

Spurs are clearly in need of reinforcements and it will be interesting to see if Daniel Levy is willing to bankroll a few signings before the January transfer window closes.

Tottenham should look to bring in a quality right-back, and a creative central midfielder if they want to finish the season strongly.

Meanwhile, Sky Sports pundit Jamie Redknapp has warned (h/t HITC) that there could be a fallout between Conte and Levy soon.

He also suggested that former manager Mauricio Pochettino is waiting in the wings to take over as the club’s next manager if things do not go according to plan for Conte and Spurs.

Redknapp said: “I can see cracks certainly appearing, even Pochettino in the wings. I don’t feel this is going to end up in the way that it feels that it should do.

“I am a big Antonio Conte fan. I think there is going to be a fall-out pretty soon. I get that feeling.”
