Sky Sports provides an update on Tottenham Hotspur’s pursuit of AC Milan’s Franck Kessié

Franck Kessié appears to be the midfielder that Tottenham Hotspur wants to land. The 25-year-old is appreciated by manager Antonio Conte and seems like the AC Milan man is the ideal choice to be the spine for Spurs’ midfield.

Less than a week until the January transfer window closes, Sky Sports reports that Tottenham wants to bring Kessié to north London this month. The Ivory Coast international is out of a contract in June and could sign a pre-contract that kicks in next season.

However, it seems as though Spurs want to force AC Milan’s hand to let the player depart now rather than in the summer. Last year, the Serie A club lost Gianluigi Donnarumma and Hakan Çalhanoğlu on a free transfer. As a result, losing Kessié with no fee in return could be another blow.

The situation regarding Kessié won’t be resolved until the player is done representing the Ivory Coast in the Africa Cup of Nations.

Can’t see him coming until the summer, if he does.

Tangy’s head is completely in the wrong place. It’s sad, more than anything.

This guy would be an upgrade on Ndombele. His stats are very good and he scores goals. Plus he said this, don’t not think Ndombele has the same attitude: “I’m not afraid of running a lot. Sometimes my teammates ask ‘How do you do it?’ I reply that it’s natural for me. I’m earning way too much money to not sweat on the pitch. In Africa, there are people who walk 20 miles every morning just for a piece of bread.”
