Tottenham are being linked with a move for PSV winger Johan Bakayoko.
In the aftermath of Spurs’ recent 4-2 defeat to Brighton, when asked about transfer rumours, manager Ange Postecoglou responded in the following manner, stating (via Fabrizio Romano):
“The transfer window… nothing magical is going to happen in the January window”.
“What we need to do is just keep building. We’ll see what we can do but ultimately it’s about building a side that will get us to where we want to”.
Postecoglou has not revealed in front of the media, but behind the scenes, the Lilywhites are monitoring several players.
They seem to be close to completing a deal for Genoa’s Radu Dragusin and have also reportedly started talks with Chelsea for Conor Gallagher.
But they have eyes on signing another winger as well and as per Italian journalist Rudy Galetti. Tottenham are looking at Johan Bakayoko.
He shared the update on X:
Tottenham are looking for a new winger in Jan.
“Johan Bakayoko – also strongly appreciated by Liverpool – is emerging among the targets of THFC: this season, he scored 3 goals and provided 8 assists in Eredivisie so far.
The RW has a contract with PSV until 2026.”

Bakayoko currently plays as a right-winger for PSV and is under contract with the Dutch club until June 30, 2026.
The Belgian international typically operates as an inside forward, showcasing a tendency to cut inside on his left foot often.
The star winger is currently valued at €40 million on Transfermarkt.
The reaction among Spurs fans is mixed, although a majority are excited about having a player with such a profile at the club.
The North London-based club is not the sole contender for the player’s services. Liverpool are also expressing interest in the player as per Galetti.
In the coming weeks, it will unfold whether Tottenham goes the distance to secure the signature of Johan Bakayoko.
