‘Shown most concrete interest’ – Sky Sports man shares update on Tottenham midfielder linked with a move away

By Mehdi Gokal -

Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Giovani Lo Celso is poised to leave the club this summer, seeking regular playing time elsewhere.

Several European clubs and a team from Saudi Arabia have shown strong interest in the Argentine international ahead of the transfer window.

According to Sky Sports’ Lyall Thomas, Real Betis are particularly keen on reuniting with Lo Celso. He shared the update on X:

“Real Betis want to re-sign Giovani Lo Celso this summer. Shown most concrete interest so far. About to enter final year at Tottenham and started just four Premier League games last season.”

Lo Celso previously had a promising loan spell at Betis, which led to a permanent transfer, before he moved to Spurs.

The 28-year-old is open to leaving North London after not featuring prominently in Ange Postecoglou’s plans last season.

Lo Celso started only four Premier League matches out of his 22 appearances, contributing two goals and two assists in a total of 492 minutes played .

Entering the final year of his contract, which expires next June, Tottenham are looking to sell Lo Celso this summer to avoid losing him for free.

Real Betis, who initially signed him from Paris Saint-Germain before loaning him to Spurs in 2019, are eager for his return.

Meanwhile, other clubs are closely monitoring his situation, with Aston Villa, managed by Unai Emery, showing particular interest.

As Lo Celso prepares for the upcoming Copa America with Argentina, a departure from Tottenham seems increasingly likely.
