Teddy Sheringham has advised Tottenham striker Harry Kane to ‘make the most of his career’ amid speculation over his future at the club.
The former England forward himself left Spurs to join Manchester United, who have been tipped as one of Kane’s most likely destinations should he decide that he can no longer fulfil his ambitions with us [Sky Sports].
Speaking to Sky’s Football Show, Sheringham said that Kane’s time at Spurs is approaching a crossroads, and seemed to suggest that the 26-year-old should seize the same opportunity as he did, if it is presented to him.

One might think that Sheringham’s move to Old Trafford, where he won three Premier League titles, an FA Cup and famously the Champions League, is precedent that the grass will be greener away from Spurs.
But I think Sheringham’s career path is something for us to cling onto. He didn’t leave Spurs until he was 31 and still had time to win all of the biggest trophies in the game. So can Kane afford to wait it out five more years?

I hope Harry stays. Let’s face it though, we haven’t had much from him since World Cup due to injuries , out of form and over -committment to 3 Lions. If he keeps trying to lead England, he will undoubtedly get injured or go off form again. He’s a very expensive name on the injury list.
No.
Harry Kane won’t last five more years at Spurs, he’ll retire early through injury because of the incompetent use made of him by the club, managers desperate for results and Harry’s own bloody minded wish to play every minute of every game which speaks well of his whole hearted honesty as a player but which will shorten his career.
The question is what would Kane get out of staying for one more season? If Levy was going to change his MO and back Jose to show some intent then it appears this virus has kicked him right in the chestnuts. The last 9 nine games should make up Kane’s mind. If we play well with significant contributions from Sanchez, Dier, Winks, Dele and Ndombele, Kane might be convinced into one more season. He has to be shown hope of us challenging the top teams. A player of Kane’s calibre deserves medals.
