“Shameless” Sunday Supplement Pundit Destroys Daniel Levy

By The Boy -

Daniel Levy appears to be in a spot of public relations bother. Paul Hayward of The Telegraph is a seasoned and balanced football pundit as anyone who has read his work or heard him talk on Sky Sports’ Sunday Supplement show is likely to attest.

Words such as “shameless” and “state aid” really ought not to be ever used in relation to the business activities of a multimillion-pound Premier League side.

Whilst organizing a pay cut for non-playing staff might serve to pave the way for asking the players themselves to take a cut, getting the state to pay for the club’s staff furlong has been a public relations car crash.

Scrutiny over the manner in which ENIC are running Spurs is beginning to gather significant momentum and this feels like it is merely the latest nail in the goodwill coffin.

Regular readers will know that I predicted all this some considerable time ago, as I alleged that the business model and that the people running the club were flawed.

Kindly note, I take no pleasure from any of this. That said, it does suggest that the decisions that I made in regard to who may and who may not comment on this blog have been vindicated. The propaganda is failing to keep pace with reality.

This latest penny pinch is really low. They have to go. & made most money in prem for last 5 years i read. ENIC out.

If ever the term Us and Them fitted a particular circumstance, this is it. Quite breathtaking hypocrisy from the regime.

Why would someone who even acknowledges that we are allegedly the 8th richest club in the world, take advantage of the government trying to help the people who need it?? There is only one answer, sheer greed. He could afford to pay these people from his own personal wealth, certainly from Joe Lewis, and as a gesture from the players taking a cut. Toby made the gesture with the I pads last week out of his own pocket, yet this money grabbing shut weasel can’t do the right thing by his own staff. I’m livid.

Reality is straight forward. The man is scum. The fact he even managed to drop in the word transfer in his little speech shows clearly to me that he’s probably dancing that the rest of the world is suffering, but he head been given another disaster to hide behind. Just go levy, you are a joke

I have been saying this for months. As you stressed, one year late, 100% over budget, abuse of trust of S/T holders. Furthermore, he has failed on more than one occasion to back the manager when we had a very good team needing several upgrades to win silverware. To add insult to injury, he has done nothing but cost us a fortune in the transfer market by his intransigence and poor judgement. He has already admitted that the buck stops with him, so resign as a result of your total incompetence or be sacked.

“Shameless” – finishing a stadium one year late and massively over-budget, club saddled with a huge generational debt, abused trust of supporters over S/T renewals AND still awarded himself a handsome bonus. Anyone else and they would have been sacked for incompetence.

There is a meeting of the Premier League, PFA and the League Managers Association today and the wages issue should be discussed. After Barcelona”s players took a 70 percent wage cut and Bayern and Juventus took cuts I think the players have no choice but to do the right thing. Two percent of the Barca players cut will be used to make sure that non playing staff get their full wage.

The idea of players taking a pay cut could hit the legal buffers. It’s suggested that the forcing of players to accept lower wages is illegal under the term of their contracts and would lead them to be available on a free.”Another fine mess you got us into Daniel.”(ENIC)

Reading between the lines, Danny Boy is saying that there won’t be any transfers in or out, this summer. It’s shameful that people with that much wealth should do this. Branson, Ashley, Levy & Lewis won’t be the only wealthy people to do this but it’s absolutely disgusting. Football as a spectator sport will suffer from this but those relying on the income from season ticket sales will suffer too. However, if you need to, you sell a yacht or an island but us mere mortals will get in debt, trying to put food on the table.

You have every right to congratulate yourself on your perspicacity regarding the odious behaviour of Enic and their charlatan Levy. I have written to this blog on several occasions regarding the media finally realising what a vile regime is being operated at Spurs. Paul Hayward is a serious and thoughtful sports journalist who has nailed it on the head, and this is one PR mess that Donna Cullen will not be able to spin Levy out of very quickly. No surprise that the only other owner who has behaved in the same manner as Levy was Mike Ashley, two men cut from similar cloth. I, for one, welcome the spotlight being shone on Enic and Levy. The Harry Kane mural commissioned by Joe Lewis is beyond parody.
