Tottenham Hotspur wants to improve the backline this summer, and the Premier League side has monitored various targets such as Chelsea FC’s Kurt Zouma and Bologna F.C. 1909’s Takehiro Tomiyasu.
However, Tottenham expresses interest in another central defender in ACF Fiorentina defender Nikola Milenković, but it doesn’t seem that the Italian club wants to hand over their prized defender.
La Nazione (via Sports Mole) reports that Tottenham has officially made a bid for the 23-year-old. Nonetheless, the offer fell short of what Fiorentina wants for the Serbia international.
The report doesn’t state the amount that the English side put on the table for Fiorentina. Although Tottenham is preparing to make another bid for Milenković, but they won’t get in touch with them until the 25th of this month.
When it comes to the potential cost for Milenković, Transfermarkt estimates the defender’s value at €25-million. The Fiorentina defender has made 133 appearances for the club, where he’s scored 11 goals.
