‘Sell him now’: Tottenham urged to get rid of £42m ace at the end of the season

Colombian media have urged Tottenham Hotspur to cash in on the out-of-favour defender Davinson Sanchez.

The 26-year-old has struggled to hold down a regular starting spot at the London club and the arrival of Antonio Conte has certainly not helped his case.

It seems that the Italian manager does not prefer him as a starter and the Colombian media (h/t El Futbolero) claims that Tottenham should ‘sell him now’ and let him get his career back on track at another club.

It is evident that sitting on the bench at Tottenham is not ideal for the player.

The former Ajax defender was expected to develop into a top-class player following his move to the Premier League but things have clearly not worked out.

Sanchez has shown his quality from time to time but he has failed to deliver consistent performances on a weekly basis.

Cristian Romero is the only reliable defender at the club right now and Tottenham should look to get rid of some of their fringe players and bring in defenders who are ready to start for them. They have been linked with a number of players like Piero Hincapie in recent weeks.

Sanchez has a contract at Tottenham until the summer of 2024 and Tottenham could look at the upcoming window as their final opportunity to recoup a reasonable amount of money for the player. They will not want Sanchez to leave as a free agent in 2024 and therefore it makes sense to sell him at the end of this season.
