Scotty Parker is livid that his team are being asked to play a football match. The game was originally cancelled at very short notice, just a few hours before kick-off. Fulham last played on Saturday, which by my CSE grade 3 mathematics, means they’ll have had 3 days to recover, which in professional football, played by grown-ups, is quite normal. Fulham, or rather Parker, forgets himself here. The original tie was postponed because our fellow Londoners could maintain controlled environments for their playing staff. Coronavirus outbreaks at Fulham mothballed this match.
The quotes from Parker to the BBC are extensive and heavily based upon the ‘pity me’ school of feeble excuses. The reality of the situation is that Fulham are in a world of pain, 18th in the Premier League and are perhaps looking for situations that have been thrust upon them as to why they are in so much trouble.
If this all Parker has in his managerial locker in January, then Fulham Football Club may well be snookered.
