Barcelona have reportedly given Ousmane Dembele a deadline to sort out his future as he edges closer to becoming a free agent.
The France international was recently linked with Tottenham by 90min, so it may be of interest to Spurs fans to see what’s going on with his situation at Barcelona.
According to Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona seem keen to keep Dembele, but will look to move things along by pressuring him with a time limit to put pen to paper on a new deal.
Spurs could do well to keep an eye on this situation, as it could mean there’ll be movement on Dembele’s future pretty soon, with Barca surely needing a decision from him very soon as January edges closer.
Dembele will be free to hold talks with new clubs from January onwards, so if this isn’t sorted soon, Tottenham could be in a position to pounce for this signing fairly imminently.
Whether or not the club should be considering Dembele after his Barcelona struggles is another thing, but it seems likely the 24-year-old, who was once considered a huge prospect, will have a long list of suitors given his potential status as a free agent.
