Roy Keane comments on Spurs’ Cristian Romero taunting Man United’s Harry Maguire

Tottenham Hotspur defender Cristian Romero is under fire for his decision to taunt Manchester United defender Harry Maguire for his mishap, which resulted in an own-goal for The Red Devils, tying the game at the time 2-2.

Maguire would be rescued by Cristiano Ronaldo minutes later as the Portuguese forward would score on a corner kick set-piece to complete his hat-trick and give Manchester United the 3-2 win. After the match, the Sky Sports crew had a round table discussion on the Romero incident.

Roy Keane didn’t take too kindly to the Argentine taunting the Manchester United defender following his mistake. Keane stated that players take ‘note of that’ when they’re out on the pitch.

“Not good, no, no, no,” Keane said on Sky Sports. “You remember. When you’re a player, you take note of that, don’t worry. You take note of that.”

“Don’t like that. It comes back to haunt you. Certainly, as a defender, you make mistakes, things like that don’t go right. You don’t like to see that. It could be you next week,” former Tottenham defender Michael Dawson added.

Tottenham finds themselves on a tough road to finish in the top four. Dropping points against a club they need to leap over wasn’t the ideal outcome despite having two games in hand.

Spurs sit five points away from Manchester United, with West Ham United and Arsenal also ahead of Antonio Conte’s squad.
