Romero out, possibly for months

By The Boy -

Antonio Conte gave his press conference for our net game against Brentford this lunchtime and dropped the bombshell that Cuti Romero is going to be out of action for a good long while.

I’m uploading the video, but Jonathan Veal of Press Association Sport was at Hotspur Way and relayed the gaffer’s words on his social media account.

I take a view that whilst this is all part and parcel of the game, Spurs need to operate with a greater sense of certainty when dealing with players seeking to involve themselves with international games. the consequences of this particular player being out of action, leaves us back with the same faces before the window. In real terms, we are left staring at a 20-year-old boy and a goalkeeper that has already failed to meet the unforgiving standards of England’s top flight.

There is no way of dressing this up. It is an unmitigated disaster.

Toby did similar vs RM
Unfortunately it happens, just not see the real commitment to the Spurs cause.
Maybe ossie needs a word with the Argentina boys.

And Rondons not in the plans? Levy at centre half too now then. What could go wrong.

2 more Prem matches held up for heart failures. Happening all over now.
We know why. Evil.

Bad news that becomes clear after a week.. If swelling is so bad they can’t scan for results for so long then you know it’s a bad tear or even rupture.. Unfortunately it is part of the game… Do planes really affect muscles like this guys? It’s not like all CL and Ropey league players come down with serious injuries that put them out for months because they fly on planes.

That’s a good point, you’d have hoped that they do all the warming down and up but 12 hours on a plane between high intensity activity must be carefully managed…

He played two tough games in 4 days and then sat on a plane for 12 hours – then two more tough games. The plane is probably the problem as much as the football. You cant treat muscles like this – but surely the club medics and trainers know this. Not rocket science.

He wasn’t fit when we signed him, and then travelling to red listed countries for internationals is farcical… the good news is that Sanchez gets another chance to stake his claim for a regular spot..🤦‍♂️🤣

Losing one CB at any other club wouldn’t be a huge problem, Liverpool achieving top 4 while missing VVD last season is a great example. Time for Sanchez and Rodon to step up…lord help us
