Romano reports some good news for Tottenham fans at long last

Tottenham is confident that Heung-min Son will sign a new deal even though he might lose his strike partner, Harry Kane this summer.

Son has been a consistent performer for Tottenham since he joined from Bayer Leverkusen in 2015.

The South Korean formed a solid attacking partnership with Kane last season and they nearly fired Spurs to a trophy.

The goals from their partnership helped Spurs to top the Premier League table late last year and some of the fans started dreaming of them ending their wait for a new trophy.

However, they ended the season outside the top four and empty-handed and it could be Kane’s last campaign with them.

The England captain has asked the club to sell him and he might get his wish with Manchester City and Manchester United tipped to do battle for him.

Some Tottenham fans are worried that his departure could also prompt Son to want to leave, but Fabrizio Romano says the club expects him to stay and sign a new long-term deal.

He tweeted: “Heung-min Son is expected to sign soon his new contract with Tottenham, negotiations going on since December and now all parties confident to complete the agreement. White circleFlag of South Korea #THFC

“Son is staying at Tottenham, higher salary and new long-term agreement.”
